The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the largest funding organisation in the world supporting the international exchange of students and scholars. Since it was founded in 1925, more than 1.5 million scholars in Germany and abroad have received DAAD funding. The DAAD is a registered association, its members are German institution of higher education and student bodies.

The DAAD Information Centre in Yerevan opened in 2004, it serves as a point of contact for all issues concerning cooperation between Germany and Armenia in the field of Higher Education. Its aim is to intensify relations between higher education institutions in the RA and in Germany. The Information Centre in Yerevan provides services to academic institutes and gives information to individuals and institutions interested in academic exchanges with Germany.
