Welcome to the DAAD Information Centre in Yerevan!
The DAAD Information Centre in Yerevan opened in 2004, and serves as a point of contact for all issues concerning cooperation between Germany and Armenia in the field of Higher Education. It will actively help intensify relations between higher education institutions in the RA and in Germany. The Information Centre in Yerevan provides services to academic institutes and gives information to individuals and institutions interested in academic exchanges with Germany.
This website provides extensive information for Armenians who are interested in going to Germany in order to study or to do research. Also, you find information on DAAD scholarships and funding opportunities for Armenians. Check this website for new scholarship offers. We hope this website will assist you in getting all the information you need. However, Information Centre staff is also available for personal consultation four times a week during office hours and by prior appointment. If you have questions regarding scholarships you can use the opportunity to ask experts in Germany in a live chat on 16th of September between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. (CET) with Nicole Berners from the DAAD in Bonn and Patrick Toussaint from International Office of the University of Applied Science in Cologne. The two experts will give tips and tricks for a successful scholarship application.

DAAD Scholarships and Grants
Deadline for application for DAAD scholarships and grants is on October 29th, 2010. Interviews will be held on 26th of November for applicants in the programmes One-Semester-Scholarships for Students Reading German Studies and Course Completion Grants for Students Reading German Studies; and January/February 2011 for applicants in the programmes Study Scholarships for Graduates of all Disciplines and ERP-Scholarships. There are no interviews in the programmes University Summer Courses, Study Scholarships for Artists, Research Scholarships and Research Stays.

56 new DAAD scholarship holders in 2009/2010
On June 13th, 2009, 56 new DAAD scholarship holders from Armenia received their scholarship certificates by the German Ambassador, H.E. Andrea Wiktorin. The Armenian vice-minister of education, Mr. Ara Avetisyan, congratulated the students and academics. The ceremony at the Congress Hotel was also attended by rectors and international departments officers, as well as DAAD Alumni.

Short Story Contest: Awards for best Stories
The Short Story Contest, organized by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the DAAD, was a great success with 43 participants. Here you find the names of the authors of the best stories, and you can read the award winning story "Augen lügen nicht".

Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg
The Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg supports young people who want to contribute as volunteers to shaping their environment, to facilitating change in society. In individually developed projects, they have the opportunity to be active, develop friendships and gain important experiences. The Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg assists in the implementation of the projects over the course of one year with training and international meetings. Individuals between 18 and 25, from Germanspeaking countries, from Central and Southeast Europe and from CIS countries can become active, can work together and overcome borders.
